Welcome

I created this weblog several months ago. I hoped this could be a place for me to think about "publishing" some of my writing. I have been learning how to become a better teacher of writing to my fifth and sixth grade students, and one of the things you need to do as a teacher of writing is do everything you ask your kids to do. You also need to think like a writer, and like a teacher of writing. And this means that you have to write. And make decisions about what you want to revise. And edit. And, ultimately, publish. I expect my students to write fluently, to make decisions about what they want to revise, and to publish their pieces. I'm not yet confident enough to try publishing for a newspaper, or even for the school newsletter. So, this forum will need to work for now. Stay tuned.
